Bio

Colton Merrill graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a concentration in Quantitative Economics. After graduating, he joined the Economic Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco as a research associate working on numerous research projects in macroeconomics and finance. This included studying the impact of changes in term premia on bank equity as well as analyzing the effective movement of U.S. Treasury futures prices in response to FOMC meetings. Following his time at the Fed, Colton joined the MSCF program to further sharpen his quantitative skills in the areas of machine learning and mathematics and to apply these skills to the financial markets. Upon completion of the program, he intends to pursue a career in quantitative research and trading.
