The Center for Africanamerican Urban Studies and the Economy (CAUSE) cordially invites you to its 2017-18 Annual Fall Reception!

In addition to providing an update on CAUSE activities and welcoming new and established members of the campus and Pittsburgh community, we will introduce our new Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr. Waverly Duck, an Associate Professor of Sociology at University of Pittsburgh. 

We will also, in collaboration with Requiem for Rice Project, host Dr. Edward Baptist, Professor of History at Cornell University, to give the opening lecture on his award-winning book, "The Half Has Never Been Told: Slavery and the Making of American Capitalism".
