Bio

Nikhil Kalathil is a PhD student in the Department of Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. Nikhil holds an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.A in Economics, Politics, and Math from Oberlin College. Nikhil previously worked as a researcher at SRI International, and has specialized in applying a wide array of real-world tools to address questions about science, technology, and manufacturing systems and policies. Nikhil is currently working under Professor Erica Fuchs and Professor Granger Morgan on integrating data from multiple sources to explore the antecedents of firms pivoting production in response to sudden shocks. Nikhil is interested in regional economic systems, critical technologies, supply chains, and innovation.
