Bio

Brissa Acevedo is a Ph.D. student in the dual degree Ph.D. Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program in Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University & Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto. Brissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Her undergraduate research focused on the adverse effects of shampoo, wastewater treatment, and renewable energy. Currently, under the direction of Dr. Valerie Karplus and Dr. Lia Patrício, Brissa researches community perceptions and impacts on regional decarbonization investments.
