Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences

The Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences is home to students who impact the world in a wide range of ways. They publish poetry, analyze brain scans and investigate how different relationships influence health. They teach elementary school students to speak Spanish and create computer tutors that teach algebra. BXA Intercollege Degree Programs

BXA Intercollege Degree Programs were developed to assist students in pursuing new discoveries and fields that bring together academic rigor and creative training. The X in BXA is the intersection of disciplines, innovation and curiosity. The X is the variable that changes depending on the academic unit a student integrates with their College of Fine Arts concentration. BXA is the umbrella term for the abbreviations that identify our programs—BCSA, BESA, BHA, BSA and EA.

IDeATe

IDeATe, the Integrative Design, Arts and Technology network at Carnegie Mellon, offers undergraduate minors and courses in Game Design, Animation & Special Effects, Media Design, Sonic Arts, Design for Learning, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Intelligent Environments and Physical Computing. These areas merge technology and creativity and provide learning opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.

Health Professions Program

The Health Professions Program (HPP) is an advising resource for students of all majors interested in pursuing a career in a health profession. Careers can include medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, optometry, physician assistant, biomedical research, genetic counseling and medical informatics.
