Structured Professional Development

Build and demonstrate your teaching expertise through scaffolded programs:

  • Future Faculty Program – A program open to all graduate students and postdocs to develop and document their teaching skills in preparation for a faculty career. A seminar-and-project pathway culminating in documented course design and a teaching philosophy statement – ideal preparation for academic career advancement.
  • Teaching Consultant Fellows Program (TCFs) – Advanced graduate students and postdocs train in peer consultation, observation, and facilitation, and provide services to other graduate students and postdocs to support their teaching development across the university. This is a part-time, hourly position.
  • Mentoring Undergraduate Researchers (MUR) Institute – A two‑day intensive institute preparing graduate students and postdocs to build inclusive, effective undergraduate research mentorship roles.
