What made you want to get involved with Staff Council?

Over the years, a number of staff members who I admire have been a part of Staff Council.

What do you wish more people knew about Staff Council?

The wide range of services that are available to members of the CMU community – the Staff Council’s advocacy for administrative staff is especially important to convey to newly-hired employees.

What do you wish more people knew about CMU?

The uniquely high quality of our students.  They are motivated and expect a lot from themselves and others.  They are multi-talented, too, with varied interests.  I’ve met many scientists who are wonderful artists: musicians, classical singers, and painters.

Do you have any tips for making the best out of winter in Pittsburgh?

Check the temperature before going out, and dress accordingly.  For our international students who haven’t experienced cold weather or have never seen snow, keep in mind that just because it’s sunny doesn’t mean that it’s warm!
