As our community starts the 2018-2019 academic year, we at the Scott Institute for Energy Innovation are happy to extend a warm “welcome” to both new and returning faculty, staff and students. The Institute staff has been busy over the summer getting ready for yet another year of energy-related programming, research/innovation and outreach. Our inaugural class of Scott Institute Energy Fellows is engaged, and we appointed Anna J. Siefken as our first ever Executive Director. Further new developments include:

This semester and year, you can look forward to:

  • The launch of our inaugural Annual Report highlighting the many energy-related CMU research projects, activities, events and innovations that have occurred in recent years;
  • seminar on Activity-Specific Feedback on an Energy Consumption Study by Dr. Verena Tiefenbeck, who leads the Bits to Energy Lab at ETH Zurich, Switzerland;
  • A talk on Nov. 2 by Wiley Editor-in-Chief John Uhlrich; and
  • CMU Energy Week, March 25-28, 2019.

We wish you the very best this new academic year and we look forward to many stimulating collaborations and communications.
