CMU's Salvador Appointed Interim Director of EST&P Program
As of June 1, Paul Salvador, professor of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), will serve as interim director of the Energy Science, Technology & Policy (EST&P) Master of Science program. Salvador has been a faculty member in MSE for 20 years, and much of his work focuses on materials research for energy applications. Currently, he is researching solid oxide fuel cells and photochemical energy conversion. He has also taught classes on energy topics that have enrolled many EST&P students.
For the past 10 years, Salvador directed the MSE Integrated Master and Bachelor (IMB) Degree Program. His successful work brought attention to the program and increased its enrollment. Salvador was also the academic faculty advisor to those IMB students and will bring this experience to the EST&P program.
Salvador will be taking over for David Landis, the current executive director of the master's program in EST&P. For the past eight years, Landis has helped to structure the master's program in a way that students learn about energy solutions that holistically consider resources, technology, and policy.
