CIO Advisory Council

Purpose

The CIO Advisory Council (CIOAC) will meet regularly with the VPIT/CIO to provide counsel and insights focused around university-wide technology strategy and direction including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Feedback, guidance, and recommendations related to on-going and future technical initiatives and opportunities impacting the CMU community;
  • Current trends within higher education, industry, and CMU campus regions;
  • Strategic direction and prioritization of policies and technical solutions

Scope

Serving as an advisory group, the CIOAC provides influence, recommendations, and insights related to the impact of overall IT governance efforts and the enterprise wide IT strategy in support of the CMU community.

Structure

The CIOAC is composed of a broad selection of CMU campus and community leaders representing academic and administrative units, current students, and alumni.

Membership Expectations

Invitation is by request only and mutual agreement with the VPIT/CIO. Membership to the CIOAC will operate on a rotational schedule. Successful members will commit to the following:

  • Regularly attend and participate in Quarterly meetings
  • Share, contribute, and offer feedback from your experiences and/or respective association with CMU
  • No delegates may be sent on members behalf
