Academic Advisory Center (AAC) - Carnegie Mellon University

Welcome to the Academic Advisory Center (AAC)!

The AAC is the "home base" for the college's students prior to declaration of a major.  Its advisors provide information, advice, and counsel about scheduling, the General Education Program (GenEd) requirements in the college and the various majors and minors available.  Advising, as part of the education process, involves helping students develop a realistic self-perceptions and successfully transition to postsecondary study by offering encouragement, respect, and assistance in establishing student's goals and objectives.  Upon admission, each Dietrich College student has the opportunity to develop a relationship with an Academic Advisor in the Center.

The Dietrich College Dean’s Office, the Academic Advisory Center and Dietrich College Connect are pleased to invite you to Dietrich College Proud Day, on Wednesday, September 10 from 2:00-4:00pm on the CFA Lawn. Rita’s Ice will be on site serving up two of their signature flavors: Strawberry Mango and Mango to all DC faculty, staff, and students.  In addition, there will be two balloon sculptors on site as well as a jumbo bouncer. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!!!

The theme for the day is “Celebrate and be DC Proud” so we are going to show our DC pride by wearing “something DC” (Proud Day t-shirt, DC sunglasses….whatever you may have).

You can pick up a t-shirt in advance on Monday, September 8th or Tuesday, September 9th from 10:00am-2:00pm in the entrance of Baker Hall.
