One of the most important items that you will need at Carnegie Mellon is your CMU ID Card. It is your official photo ID and will be part of your everyday life on campus. It will allow you to access the following:
- University Housing residence halls
- Room Key
- Dining Services meal plans
- Local Port Authority Transit (bus, incline, etc.)
- Athletic facilities
- University Libraries
- Computer Clusters
- Campus Printing
- Arts Pass Program
Please be sure to upload your photo online in order to have your ID ready when you arrive on Opening Day.
To obtain a replacement ID Card, the cardholder must complete and sign an ID Card Request form, and submit the form to The HUB.
There is a nonrefundable fee of $25 for replacing lost ID Cards. Stolen ID Cards will be replaced free-of-charge if the cardholder produces a police report or Carnegie Mellon incident report verifying that the card was stolen. Otherwise, it will be treated as a lost card and the $25 fee will apply.
