Bio
Jeff Siirola retired in 2011 as a Technology Fellow at Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport Tennessee where he had been for more than 39 years. He now holds half time positions as Professor of Engineering Practice at Purdue University and Distinguished Service Professor of Sustainable Energy Systems at Carnegie Mellon University (joint appointment in Chemical Engineering and in Engineering and Public Policy). At both universities he teaches the undergraduate chemical engineering capstone process design course as well as graduate courses in chemical industry structure and process synthesis.
Research
Siirola's research concerns conceptual design of chemical processes, synthesis of separation systems, sustainable development and growth, and carbon management.
