Bio

McGaughey's group uses simulations and theory to understand transport phenomena at the atomic level, with an emphasis on heat transfer. They are interested in nanostructured semiconductors (for solid state lighting and thermoelectric energy conversion), hybrid organic-inorganic materials (for solar energy conversion), and electrocaloric polymers (for refrigeration).
