Pittsburgh Upgrading to Smart Traffic With CMU Tech
Pittsburgh and PennDOT expect to install adaptive traffic signals at 126 intersections in the next three years. The adaptive traffic signals use Surtrac, an artificial intelligence technology developed at Carnegie Mellon University's Traffic 21 initiative.
