EST&P Student M. Kavakuntala Presented Research Paper at Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Conference

Energy Science, Technology and Policy student Meghana Kavakuntala attended the 2017 IEEE Global Humanitarian Technology Conference in San Jose, CA from Oct. 19-22, 2017. The conference addressed the underlying humanitarian challenges and opportunities associated with various fields such as energy, education, heath, sanitation, agriculture, and water, etc.

M. Kavakuntala presented her research paper, “Rural Indian Microgrid Design Optimization- Intelligent Battery Sizing” during the Energy Management session. Her paper proposes a design framework to optimize the size of battery systems employed in microgrids set in rural Indian scenarios.
