Scott Institute energy expert Jay Apt testified at the United States Environmental Protection Agency public hearing on the agency's proposed Clean Power Plan. His statement, focusing on innovations and strategy for existing power plants, was presented on Thursday, July 31 in Pittsburgh as part of four, two-day public hearings conducted by the EPA on the proposed rulemaking. Lord Professor of Chemical Engineering and Co-Director of the Scott Institute Andy Gellman was a panel member at the DOE forum, which was part of the Quadrennial Energy Review (QER) established earlier this year by President Barack Obama. The Scott Institute for Energy Innovation hosted this event and U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz led the public meeting on natural gas and its role in America's energy future.
