Bulk External Mailing

Tartan Ink manages a permit for metering mailings and completing bulk external mailings for Carnegie Mellon University. Each mailing job must contain at least 200 pieces of domestic mail. International mail cannot be done through this permit.

There are many advantages to using bulk mail. The most important advantage is that bulk mailing prices are significantly lower than single-piece prices. That can save you a lot of money.

UPS Authorized Shipping Outlet

The Tartan Ink location in the lower level of the Cohon University Center is a UPS Authorized Shipping Outlet. We offer an alternative shipping option to the Postal Service including boxes, envelopes, bubble wrap, and tape.

Items that cannot be shipped:

Ammunition
Lithium ion batteries not in a device
Alcohol
Bank bills, notes or currency (other than coin)
Corpses, cremated or disinterred remains
Fireworks
Hazardous waste
Industrial diamonds
Ivory
Marijuana, including marijuana intended for medicinal use
Postage stamps
Shark fins
Dry ice over 5.2 lbs
Shipments prohibited by law
Note: Not all commodities can be shipped to all countries.

Tartan Ink is also a drop off location. After hours, packages may be dropped off in the bin to the left of the storefront to be shipped the next business day.

Delivery pickup is at 5PM EST daily.
