Workday is the software that supports the university's human resources and payroll functions.
Workday uses your Andrew ID credentials and DUO Mobile 2FA. For issues with logging in to Workday, contact the HR Service Center. If you are having trouble with your Andrew ID credentials and cannot log in to your CMU email or other login-required CMU sites, please contact Computing Services at it-help@andrew.cmu.edu or 412-268-4357.
Your Workday inbox contains items for which you need to take action. These items could include updating your time worked, approving a change in Workday, and much more. Responding to and submitting the items in your inbox is important as these items can affect your pay, taxes, personal information or benefits. Contact the HR Service Center if you have questions about your Workday inbox.

You can access your profile by selecting photo in the top right corner of the Workday screen. If you do not have a photo associated with your account, click on the Workday cloud in the top right corner.

Your Workday profile is visible to you and contains your personal, contact, job, benefits, compensation, time off and pay information. Access to your information is managed by security roles in Workday; only authorized, specific persons may see relevant information about you. For example, your supervisor can see your time off and compensation; however they are not authorized to see your benefits elections.

Refer to the Workday Mobile: Installation Instructions Quick Guide [pdf] for detailed instructions on the Workday mobile application and login.

Contact Carnegie Mellon’s Computing Services Mobile Device Support at 412-268-4357 or it-help@cmu.edu for issues related to connectivity to the campus wireless network and university-sponsored email/calendar account synchronization. Workday-specific questions and concerns should be directed to the HR Service Center.

Issues related to phone coverage, carrier problems or other mobile functionality should be directed to your carrier or mobile device vendor.

Yes, the Workday mobile application is accessed utilizing Duo 2FA. Duo 2FA provides an additional layer of security on any service using single sign-on such as Workday.
For more advanced processes, users should use the desktop version of Workday. The mobile application is not designed to execute complex processes; mobile is convenient for approvals and employee self-service processes.
Refer to the Workday Mobile Employee Self-Service Quick Guide [pdf] for detailed instructions on how to complete employee self-service processes.
