Transition to One Purchasing Card Program
Procurement Services is excited to announce upcoming enhancements to the university Purchasing Card (P-Card) Program, which currently includes separate purchasing cards and travel cards. As part of our ongoing efforts to streamline the procurement process and maintain strong compliance standards, CMU will transition to a single integrated purchasing card (One Card) that will support both travel-related expenses and traditional PCard purchases. This change will simplify card use, strengthen oversight, and make the purchasing process easier to navigate and manage.
Benefits of the One Card Program
- Simplified card usage and management: One card for all allowable university purchases, including travel. Cardholders no longer need to have and manage separate PCards and Travel Cards.
- Clear oversight and compliance: Enhanced visibility and control for card holders via the Visa Spend Clarity platform. Card holders will be able to see real-time data such as card limits and balances.
Looking Forward
In early 2026, Procurement Services will review current cardholder and program data and prepare for select units to pilot the new One Card Program in the February – March timeframe. Units will be contacted in early 2026 about participation in a pilot program and a full rollout of the new One Card Program is slated for Spring 2026.
Procurement Services will share regular updates on progress, next steps / key dates, any required actions, and available training and resources to ensure a clear and well-supported transition for all cardholders.
Thank you for your continued collaboration and partnership as we work to enhance the Purchasing Card Program. Please reach out to Procurement Services (procurement-inbox@andrew.cmu.edu) with any questions.
