2023 FAndy Award Winners
The annual Finance Division FAndy Awards — inspired by the university’s Andy Awards — recognize and reward the accomplishments of Finance Division staff members who have gone above and beyond to elevate the work of the division and its service to the university community. The award ceremony was held on July 28 as part of the Finance Division Summer Picnic.
The 2023 categories and award recipients are:
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Award
Brandon Davis
Senior Sponsored Projects Accountant
This award recognizes an individual who demonstrates dedication and continuing commitment to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural competency within the Finance Division.
Rising Star Award
Jennifer Bonfili
Manager, Budget and Financial Planning
This award recognizes an individual for quickly standing out as a valuable member of the division by demonstrating excellence in job performance, dedication to high quality service, and key contributions to their team. Individuals that have been with the university for two years or less were eligible.
Continuous Excellence Award
Tiffany Fitzgerald
Principal Sponsored Projects Accountant
This award recognizes an individual for efficiently and effectively creating and fostering productivity and meaningful results with drive, passion, and hard work to enhance the quality of the division and the future of CMU.
Finance Ambassador Award
Ashley Ferenczy
Director, International Finance
This award recognizes an individual for creating a cohesive, transparent, and positive work environment with the Finance Division’s partners and stakeholders through an exemplary attitude and behavior that holistically adds value to the division and CMU.
Innovator Award
Katie Price
Manager, International Finance
This award recognizes a leader within the division for fostering innovation by embodying courage, collaboration, and flexibility, as well as identifying and leveraging the strengths of others to elevate Finance Division services
Friend of the Division Award
Linda Schmidt
HR Technology
This award recognizes an individual or group outside the Finance Division who support initiatives and introduces new opportunities, ideas or solutions. They earnestly collaborate with division representatives, provide the perspective of academic and/or administrative units, and act as an advocate of the Finance Division within their peer group.
Initiatives Award
International Payroll Project (Rwanda) Team

This award recognizes an intellectually curious group that worked to strengthen and propel initiatives related to the goals in the Finance Division Strategic Plan 2023 - 2027.
Champion of Core Values Award
Shawn Facchiano
Category Manager, Procurement Services
This award is given at the discretion of the CFO and recognizes an individual that demonstrates the Finance Division’s values, as outlined in the Finance Division Strategic Plan 2023 – 2027, at the highest level in all that they do. They are inclusive, service-oriented, efficient and effective, able to identify and drive enhancements, an entrepreneurial leader, intellectually curious, collaborative and innovative. They move us towards accomplishing the vision of the Finance Division each and every day.
