A Comparison of the Moroccan and American K-12 Education Systems

Martina Rethman and Vaidehi Srinivas
Carnegie Mellon University – Arabic Studies

This video was made as a project for 82-211 Intermediate Arabic I.  For this project we communicated with students at Al-Akhwayn University in Ifrane, Morocco.  We spoke to them via video conference sessions between our class and theirs, and also in a small group video conference setting.  In this presentation, we compare and contrast K-12 education in the United States and Morocco. We look at various aspects including public vs. private education, language of instruction, and the influence of religion.  The presentation is given in Modern Standard Arabic.
