Bio

Meredith Getachew is the Senior Director of Sales at Global Wordsmiths, where she guides companies and organizations in both navigating language access and exploring growth in new markets. Meredith began her career in Monitoring and Evaluation and research across East Africa and the Middle East. She now leads a team of localization and project managers in advising clients on language access, technical translation, multilingual marketing, content localization, and interpretation services. She is a Dietrich College alumna, having earned her bachelor's degree in Global Studies at Carnegie Mellon, and she holds a master's degree in International Affairs from The New School. Meredith is a sworn member of the Pennsylvania Advisory Council for Inclusive Procurement, member of the Western Pennsylvania District Export Council and Business Magazine Ambassador for the Center for International Trade Development. She returns to campus in Fall 2026 as a guest lecturer for Translation as Profession III.
