Language Learning Through Online Karaoke: The 3i Chinese Language Learning Experience

The demo will showcase a new 3i technology-enhanced language learning website we are developing for Chinese learning through Karaoke and aerobic dance. The 3i represents a focus on Initiative, Innovative and Impactful ways of Language Learning. It describes new language learning initiatives that are innovative and have positive impacts on learners’ daily lives. At the Demo, we will illustrate how we use these fun and healthy Chinese language learning materials, and discuss student feedback and learning outcomes. The website’s users are mainly Chinese and English language learners. The Karaoke and dance songs we have chosen can not only be sung aloud, but can also be presented and enacted in energetic and entertaining ways such as Zumba and cardio jam workout programs. Online Chinese Karaoke and aerobic dance with language learning helps achieve our goal of incorporating new ways of technology-enhanced learning into healthy living and language and culture learning experiences. Summit participants will be able to access the live website and explore the interactive activities.
