The Carnegie Mellon University Postal Services is conveniently located on the lower level of the Cohon University Center (5032 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh PA 15213). Our contract Post Office is open to everyone and offers many of the services found at a traditional USPS Post Office.

**Mail sent through the CMU Post Office will leave at 3:00pm each business day. Anything sent after 3:00pm will not leave until 3:00pm on the next business day. Due to the time required to send international packages, we cannot accept any items requiring a customs form after 2:45pm each day. All customs forms must be completed by 2:30pm.**

Ray Perret, Manager, Postal Services, and an alumni of Heinz College (MPM ’01) began his career at Carnegie Mellon University Postal Services in 2009.  Prior to that, he worked at USPS in many capacities, including Letter Carrier, Postmaster, Labor Relations Specialist, and Area Operational Audit Team Leader, and has also worked internationally as an archaeologist. As Manager, Postal Services, Mr. Perret oversees all work activities of eleven full-time staff members, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing mail is dispatched, sorted, and delivered to Carnegie Mellon students, faculty, and staff.  In his free time, Ray is very interested in travel, photography, hiking, and all things outdoors.

Larry started working with Carnegie Mellon University in 1993. His position as the Assistant Manager of the Postal Services focuses on problem solving and creating daily accounting reports. He also supports departmental metering as well as sortation for both departments and SMCs.

His hobbies are coaching athletic sports at Woodland Hills High School as an Assistant Football Coach and Head Varsity Baseball Coach. For relaxation he works for the Jerry Chessman Vinery in Erie Pennsylvania on the weekends, driving tractors and loading grape bins for distribution to the vendors around the country.

Courtney started with Postal Services in 2013. Her primary responsibilities have her operating the Post Office SMC Package Pickup window. Additionally, she provides help at the front counter when needed.

When Courtney is not at work she enjoys hanging out with friends. She also enjoys relaxing on the couch while binge watching a show or reading a book.

Joe Provenza started employment at Carnegie Mellon in 1992. His main duty is to deliver mail to all off-campus locations. His other focus is helping in the SMC Package Pickup area.

Outside of work Joe enjoys going to the gym and attending car races. He is an active member of the Shriners and enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, daughter, and dog Safire.

Sandi has been with Carnegie Mellon University Postal Services since 2014. You might recognize her from the Post Office retail counter or SMC Package Pickup window.  Currently, she can be found on the walking route delivering mail to departments across campus.

When she is not at work she can be found in her recliner reading a good book.  She loves reading and reads at least two books a week. In the summer she spends time in her garden and enjoys eating her harvest for dinner. However, her absolute favorite activity is spending time with her grandchildren.

Kyra has been with Carnegie Mellon University Postal Services since 2017. Depending on the day, she can be seen working in the SMC Package Pickup, at the front retail counter, or out on one of the routes. Kyra also manages the CMU Postal Services website and oversees duties as editor of our monthly newsletter "The Stamp".

In her free time, she enjoys working on her novel and other short stories as well as learning new languages. Currently, she is learning Russian. She is a prodigious reader and enjoys watching films and television shows from various time periods and genres.

Steve has been with CMU Postal Services since 2019. He divides his time between mail sortation, the front retail counter, the student package pickup, financial administration, and the walking and driving routes.

Steve is a creative artist with interests in film, pinball, comics, and science. He graduated from University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Film Studies and English Literature. He enjoys the innovative culture of the campus community.

Prashant joined Carnegie Mellon University in 2019. He delivers mail to all off-campus locations and assists in the SMC Package Pickup area.

Outside of work he enjoys going to the gym, playing soccer, growing fruits and vegetables in his back yard, and hiking at Frick at Park. Prashant also loves spending time with his family, watching soccer and movies on the weekend. He also has an interest in learning languages and hopes to begin learning Mandarin Chinese in the near future.
