Tartan Community Day Events Announced

Dear Carnegie Mellon University Community:

On behalf of university leadership, we are excited to share details about the fourth annual Tartan Community Day, taking place on Friday, October 28.

Tartan Community Day is an outcome of the Task Force on the CMU Experience, which aimed to prioritize and enhance a community experience where all members can engage, build resilience and thrive. It is also a part of CMU's Homecoming Weekend, welcoming alumni, families, students, faculty and staff to campus for festivities and fun.

As a reminder, there are no classes on Tartan Community Day and the CMU community is encouraged to forgo mandatory meetings, assignments and events to celebrate, have fun and engage. This is a chance to build community and connection in person and in partnership with our fellow Tartans.

This year’s Tartan Community Day theme focuses on transformation. Transformation can place each of us on a unique path toward new beginnings, brave decisions and an ever-changing future. We all encounter endless doorways and not everyone walks through the same series of doors. Through self-exploration and community connection, we can examine tools to start our journey of transformation. Join us to celebrate and explore the power of transformation together.
