New CMU FedEx Account Now Active

Procurement Services is pleased to announce the activation of a new CMU FedEx account. Our previous account was closed due to misuse, and this new account has been established as FedEx is now a preferred supplier with established government contract pricing for CMU, allowing the university to maintain access to negotiated rates and standardized services.  

To request a CMU FedEx account under the new structure, please email Procurement Services at procurement-inbox@andrew.cmu.edu. Include the name and CMU email address of the person requesting the account. Once the account setup is initiated by Procurement Services, the user will receive an email from Procurement Services with instructions on how to complete the account setup, including a new UserID and initial password.

To support a smooth shipping process and maintain compliance with university policies, please keep the following critical points in mind when preparing your shipments:

• Official Use Only: This account is strictly for university-related business. Personal shipments must not be processed through this account.
• Billing Information: Always ensure that the correct department code and billing reference are entered at the time of shipment to ensure accurate internal accounting.
• Hazardous Materials Shipping: Special regulations apply to international shipments and any materials classified as hazardous. Prior to the shipment of Dangerous Goods (certain chemicals, biological or radiological materials), please place a shipment review request with Environmental Health & Safety at CMU at least one week in advance of the needed shipment. • Packing Standards: To avoid damage and additional surcharges, please use standard FedEx packaging or ensure your own packaging meets FedEx’s durability requirements.
• Tracking & Receipts: Retain your tracking number and shipping receipt until delivery is confirmed.
