Bio

Krissy Opferman was born and raised in Pittsburgh, attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and received a BS in Elementary Education. She has spent over 20 years teaching in various Early Childhood settings including the Allegheny Intermediate Unit, St. Anthony's School Program and Beginnings Preschool. In 2010, she joined The Children's School team and enjoyed 13 years teaching in the Green Room and Kindergarten. In 2023, she transitioned from The Children's School to the role of Grandma!  She spent the 2023-24 school year caring for her first grandchild, Lucas. Krissy is excited to return to The Children's School team on a part time basis while still helping to care for Lucas.

Krissy and her husband George are high school sweethearts, have been married 32 years and have 2 children. Thomas and his wife Emma live in Mt Lebanon and are the proud parents of Lucas. Mary Kate and her husband Ian live in Fox Chapel. Krissy's free time is spent serving on the Board of Directors for the local nonprofit Angels' Place, volunteering for St. Teresa of Kolkata's Wednesday Night Table and spending time with family and friends.
