Research at MCS investigates innovative and interdisciplinary solutions to some of the most pressing problems in science today.
From modeling the cosmos and identifying dark matter to finding the causes of and cures for devastating diseases to creating the materials of tomorrow, researchers at MCS are pioneers in science. Our researchers collaborate between disciplines, with colleagues at Carnegie Mellon and from around the world, to advance science.
Research at MCS is not limited to faculty. Carnegie Mellon students are encouraged, from their first year, to engage in research. Students at the undergraduate and graduate levels are seen as an integral part of the research team.
