Collins taught the first university course on green chemistry in 1992. Today, undergraduate researchers like Abigail Burton conduct projects in Collins's lab. Abigail's research project focuses on degrading propranolol, a pharmaceutical found in water, using TAML® activators and hydrogen peroxide.
