Special Projects Manager, Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion

I worked in Student Affairs as a Housefellow from 2001-2011, left Carnegie Mellon and returned in September 2019 to work in the Center.
I co-direct SAMS (Summer Academy for Math & Science), a decades-long pre-college program at Carnegie Mellon. I also coordinate some graduate student programming and support various initiatives from the Center.
During my term, I would like to see Staff Council continue a commitment to understanding and improving staff experiences at Carnegie Mellon. This includes fostering openness and transparency and ensuring all staff feel heard and supported. I am dedicated to addressing concerns, working toward creative solutions, and sharing progress to ensure a thriving environment for the entire Carnegie Mellon community.
I think people would be surprised to know that during my time away from CMU I worked with my husband in his work as a general contractor. I helped to install windows, doors and even multiple roofs!
