Carnegie Mellon University

Benefits for International Locations

Faculty and staff members at Carnegie Mellon's international locations are eligible for health and welfare, financial and other benefits. Your benefits options and coverage level are determined by your work location and your employment status (full- or part-time, expatriate or local). The benefits available to international faculty and staff members are comparable to the benefits for domestic faculty and staff, but are not identical.

For expatriate employees at international locations, CMU's expatriate medical plan provides services required for those on international assignment, including repatriation, emergency travel and evacuation, records transfer, payment administration and translation services.

For local employees serving in international locations, CMU's plans must maintain compliance with the host country employment laws, and benefits may differ based on location.
