Tartans frequently do as many as six impossible things before breakfast.
Spring Carnival returned to Carnegie Mellon University with the theme "Scotty in Wonderland," an homage to Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," this past weekend. The Mellon College of Science and the rest of the Carnegie Mellon community ventured down the rabbit hole for favorite events like Douse-a-Dean (which supports Special Olympics of Pennsylvania), Booth, Buggy, Mobot, social events and Cloud Lab tours. It was a very important date — for the 2023 Tartans on the Rise honorees, who were recognized over the weekend. Rebecca Doerge, the Glen de Vries Dean of the Mellon College of Science, played the role of the Queen of Hearts to a T. Party time has come and gone, but the University Libraries' featured exhibit Inventing Shakespeare: Text, Technology, and the Four Folios remains on display.
The following 2023 Spring Carnival images are curiouser and curiouser.
The Department of Chemistry hosted a lunch to catch up with community members. Guests made slime and gummy worms and tried out cosmetic products made by students.
That's a wrap on Spring Carnival! From April 13-16, MCS students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends participated in a myriad of events from Booth and Buggy to Cloud Lab tours and Douse-a-Dean. pic.twitter.com/RtmUlskPBX
