Support Carnegie Mellon’s 30th Annual Food Drive

Dear Members of the CMU Community:

Today, Staff Council launched Carnegie Mellon’s 30th Annual Food Drive. Carole and I are honored to once again chair this year’s initiative, which runs through November 13, 2023.

One of the university’s priorities is to advance our efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, which contribute to making the world a better place. Our food drive impacts several of these goals, including reaching zero hunger and reducing consumption and production. For CMU, that starts with eradicating hunger and sharing food resources in our own backyard.

Because of our continued and increased enthusiasm over the past 30 years to help end food insecurity, our goal this year is to raise $100,000 and collect nonperishable items (with a special focus on peanut butter) for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank (GPCFB). As part of our efforts, we also aim to collect 250 can openers that will go directly to the CMU Food Pantry.

We hope you will consider contributing to our campaign, which is the highest-grossing food drive in the City of Pittsburgh. For your convenience, monetary contributions to support the GPCFB can be made online here.

We also invite you to join us at any or all of the following upcoming events:
