Carnegie Mellon University

September 12, 2019

Dear Members of the Carnegie Mellon Community,

As we are now well into our semester, I’d like to revisit a promise that I made during this year’s orientation events. I truly enjoyed our conversations during those times, and was reminded how important it is to regularly connect with the people who make Carnegie Mellon the special place that it is.

To that end, I am pleased to announce that this fall, I will begin hosting monthly office hours, for students, faculty and staff. I invite you to use this time to tell me what’s on your mind, and share your experiences, ideas and aspirations for Carnegie Mellon.

Monthly office hours will be held in CCR East on the first floor of Warner Hall at the dates and times below.

Wednesday, September 25, 2:30 – 4 pm
Monday, October 28, 1 – 2:30 pm
Friday, November 15. 9:30 – 11 am
Thursday, December 12, 3 – 4:30 pm

No appointment is necessary — simply check in with a member of my staff when you arrive and I will meet with visitors in the order that they arrive. Please note that to accommodate as many as possible, time may be limited.

I wish everyone a great academic year, and look forward to seeing you soon. If you see me on campus please stop and say hello!

Regards,

James H. Garrett, Jr.
