Give the Gift of Time to a Colleague in Need

CMU recognizes that an employee may be impacted by a catastrophic illness that results in a need for additional Paid Time Off (PTO). The university is supportive of fellow employees who wish to assist colleagues who have experienced such an event.

To address this need, eligible employees may donate accrued PTO from their unused balance to a PTO donation bank of time. The PTO Donation Bank will be made available to employees who have been impacted by a catastrophic illness. Participation in the program is strictly voluntary for both donors and recipients.

Currently, eligible employees can make donations to the PTO Donation Bank using a Workday form. Starting in early 2024, CMU will partner with PTO Exchange to administer the donation process and prepare for allocation requests.
