Employee Resource Groups' Heart Walk a Success

On September 17, Carnegie Mellon University’s Employee Resources Groups (ERGs) sponsored the first CMU Heart Walk team. The ERGs would like to thank all who helped make the event a success by taking part in the walk or donating to the cause! With your generous support, the team of 20 walkers was able to raise over $2,000 for the American Heart Association.

The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s premier event for raising funds to save lives from this country's No. 1 and No. 5 killers — heart disease and stroke. The Pittsburgh Heart Walk took place in Point State Park and included companies, organizations and individuals from throughout the Pittsburgh area. The funds raised during the event help to:

  • Save the lives of kids born with congenital heart defects and adults struggling with heart disease
  • Teach thousands how to save lives through CPR training
  • Fund the next heart and stroke medical breakthrough
  • Ensure everyone has access to quality healthcare
