LGBTQIA+ Faculty and Staff Alliance Celebrates Pride Month

Table arranged with white tote bags printed with CMU Scotty logo carrying a Progress Pride flag

The LGBTQIA+ Faculty and Staff Alliance employee resource group celebrated Pride Month by hosting a lunch on June 21, 2022. About 30 faculty and staff members attended the event, which was held in the CUC McKenna/Peter/Wright Room. Attendees were encouraged to bring a donation for the Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation, a local organization with a mission to improve the health of the LGBTQ+ and HIV communities. Thanks to members' generosity, the group was able to donate several bags worth of pantry items, paper products and hygiene supplies.

During the event, attendees celebrated Pride and enjoyed lunch together while discussing topics that affect the employee resource group, including upcoming Pride Month events for the campus community and the need for a new co-lead for the group. Any current members who are interested in serving as co-lead are encouraged to reach out via email.
