Volunteer Opportunity: United Way Day of Caring May 12–13

United Way of Southwestern PA needs your help! Families in our area are facing some challenging months ahead. Food insecurity is on the rise due in part to higher prices and accessibility. Meanwhile, children who have experienced quite a bit of lost learning in the past few years are at risk of becoming more disengaged during the summer months.

That’s why United Way needs organizations and individuals to register and show up for a Day of Caring at Heinz Field on May 12 and 13. These will be in-person opportunities to join with other motivated, caring people and help make an impact on the lives of our neighbors.

Visit the United Way site for details or to sign up for volunteer session opportunities:

  • Summer Fun and Learning Supply Packing
    Thursday, May 12, 1–3 p.m.
  • Emergency Food Packing
    Thursday, May 12, 5–7 p.m.
  • Food and Summer Kit Distribution
    Friday, May 13, 9 a.m.–noon

Days of Caring are vital to the success of United Way's mission, and we sincerely thank all the individuals and organizations who enthusiastically give their time and energy to help meet the needs of our community. Let’s have fun, and let’s make change happen!
