Return to Campus Updates
Hybrid Meeting Guidance and Norms
As members of the CMU community prepare to return to campus or have already returned, routines and ways of working may change. These changes may include the way in which we conduct meetings. Because each colleague may have a different work environment — some working virtually, in-person, or a combination of both — we must ensure our ways of collaborating adapt. To support our shift to a greater presence on campus, HR has provided some helpful resources, including a two-minute video segment (LinkedIn Learning login required) to learn tips for leading a successful online meeting for a remote or hybrid team.
Additionally, HR has compiled a series of resources on Working Norms for a Hybrid Workforce. This information includes several development resources and guides related to team management, engaging remote employees, and other support resources.
And finally, Computing Services’ Return to Campus Guide for Staff provides an abundance of technological related resources including a return checklist and best practices for collaborative meetings.
Vaccine Requirements for New Hires
As a condition of employment, Carnegie Mellon University requires all staff and faculty working in the United States to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Prior to commencement of employment, new hires must provide proof of their vaccination or have an approved exemption. New employees requesting a medical, religious or strong moral or ethical conviction exemption from the vaccine must complete and submit an exemption request form for review and approval, and will be required to comply with all applicable COVID-19 mitigation requirements. The HR team will work with new hires to ensure that they have provided the necessary information. For any questions or concerns, please contact your HR business partner.
