Strategic Plan Projects
On June 2, 2021, the Office of Human Resources (OHR) successfully launched a series of strategic plan projects. The purpose of these projects is to drive strategic changes for reliable, credible, and proactive service-focused HR functions. We are grateful to all the staff in OHR and partners throughout campus who helped implement these projects successfully.
As campus adjusts to these changes, resources and training are available to learn more about the strategic plan projects and how they may impact your work at CMU. For more information about training, we recommend that you review available options on the Strategic Plan Training Resources page. This page has step by step guides, recorded trainings, and live training options. In particular, we are offering live training for both the Talent Management project and Workday Recruiting project.
OHR would like to highlight the new talent management features within Workday. Workday Talent Management supports employees and supervisors with professional development and career progression. The implementation of these features promotes a cultural shift, encouraging employees and supervisors to have more meaningful conversations facilitated by the data now available in Workday and streamlining the process for internal candidates to apply to available opportunities via the Career Profile.
Employees can create a personal profile containing interests, certifications, education, job history and work experiences. Updated profiles allow employees to apply for internal job postings quickly and efficiently. Additionally, updated profiles provide a database of internal talent that supervisors and HR recruiters can leverage to identify employees qualified for internal postings and/or development opportunities.
