Reminder: Ending Hourly Student Worker Positions Prior to Fall Semester
As the fall semester approaches, we want to remind you of the actions to be taken regarding students with summer hourly positions. The summer work period ends Sunday, August 15, 2021.
Please remind your students to submit all hours they have worked no later than 8 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021. All hours must be submitted and approved by the bi-weekly payroll deadline at noon (noon ET) on August 16.
- August 16, 2021 — Current students continuing to work after August 15 will need to have a new position entered. Use Academic Year 2021-2022 effective dates (August 16, 2021–May 8, 2022) with pay rate support uploaded to Workday.
- August 15, 2021 — Graduating students may not work as students beyond August 15. These student positions must be ended and the students transitioned to staff members to continue to work beyond August 15. Additional hiring approvals are required. Prior to extending an offer, please contact your HR generalist.
- August 23, 2021 — HR Technology will end all summer student hourly positions with start dates before August 16, 2021.
