What do you remember most from your educational journey and how has that shaped your teaching?

I've had many excellent role models over the years, from high school, through college and graduate school. They clearly had a passion for what they do and conveyed excitement about the subjects that they taught. I've tried to do the same.

What do you love about teaching?

It's a pleasure to see students in the classroom or laboratory who really "get it" and demonstrate that they get it by what they do or what they say in conversation or what they write in their assignments.

What one piece of advice would you give your students?

Take responsibility for your education by knowing what is expected of you and by setting aside the time to do it.
