What do you love about teaching?

There are a lot of things that I love about teaching! Meeting young, curious, and open minds every day is certainly a luxury of my job. I hope that our interactions, both in and out of classrooms, could help strengthen and further expand students’ minds, as well as mine.

How does what you do in the classroom reflect the impact your field has on the world?

My research and teaching center on analyzing data in the context of economic models. This has real-world impacts on public policy and business decisions, but the way of (empirical) thinking can also be applied to discipline our own decision-making. All topics, examples, and datasets used throughout the course (even for exams!) are meant to demonstrate the impact and value of combining data analysis and economics.
