How long have you been at CMU and how did you get here? What (if any) other roles have you had at CMU? What did you do before coming to CMU?

I moved to Pittsburgh in the summer of 2022, and joined Academic Advising Center. Before coming to CMU, I worked as a Student Success Advisor at IUPUI in Indianapolis, Indiana. I primarily worked with students in STEM really enjoy helping students find their path in the wild world we live in.

What was your undergraduate major? How did you end up deciding on it?

In my undergraduate studies, I majored in Communication. I really enjoyed it because as one wise faculty member said to me, "We all communicate everyday. The mastery of it takes a lifetime". That really stuck with me. My passion has always been working with people, and I wanted to work on building strong relationships both professionally and personally, and my studies helped me learn more on how to do so!

What is a fun or surprising fact about yourself?

Most folks don't know this about me, but back home in Arizona, I have an identical twin sister!

What activities/hobbies do you like to do outside of work and/or what do you like to do to de-stress or unwind after a busy day?

To unwind, I love watching a movie or playing games with my friends, both video games and board games alike. I love playing Dungeons and Dragons a lot with my friends, as well as playing a lot of games that involve strategy and story elements!
