Open Field Entrepreneurs Fund: 4 out of 6 are Project Olympus companies

Olympus Compnaies ActivAided Orthotics, Aurochs Brewing Co., PECA Labs, and Tunessence.

The latest round of investments from the Open Field Entrepreneurs Fund is headed to six startup companies, all with Carnegie Mellon University ties. Five of them are based in Pittsburgh.

The fund is part of the university’s effort to encourage its students and alumni to pursue entrepreneurial ventures. It was established last year by CMU alumnus and successful entrepreneur Jonathan Kaplan and his wife, Marci Galzer. Kaplan sold his company Pure Digital, the maker of the Flip Video Camera, to Cisco Systems in 2009. Read More...
