The concert of rare gems and an all-time favorite features guest conductor Leonard Slatkin, who will present McTee’s “Double Play.” The performance includes PSO principal oboist and CMU School of Music Artist Lecturer Cynthia DeAlmeda, who shines in the French composition “The Flower Clock.” PSO principal violist Randolph Kelly will perform American composer Walter Piston's viola concerto. Young musicians from across the Pittsburgh region will narrate the audience favorite, Britten's "Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra."
Following the concert all CMU faculty, staff and students are invited to a dessert reception, hosted by President Jared L. Cohon.

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is hosting Carnegie Mellon University Night at 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4 at Heinz Hall.
