BOC BannerPITTSBURGH—Corporate recruiters are invited to make early connections with Carnegie Mellon University students during the Business Opportunities Conference (BOC) on Thursday, Sept. 19.

The program, organized by CMU's Career and Professional Development Center (CPDC), connects employers with undergraduate students interested in business-specific fields such as analytics, banking, consulting, finance, marketing and operations.

"Our students are world-class, and each year we recognize their value to the marketplace as more companies come to recruit them," Associate Dean for Career and Professional Development Kevin Monahan said. "We welcome regional, national and international employers from all industries to the BOC. Organizations attending this event gain a competitive advantage in the on-campus recruiting process by being given direct access to CMU students before the start of formal on-campus interviews."

More than 600 students seeking jobs and internships are expected to participate in this year's BOC. While a majority of participants are business and economics majors, students from all academic disciplines attend the event.

This year's event features a networking lunch from noon to 1:15 p.m. that will pair graduating Tepper School of Business students with alumni from participating organizations. The recruiting fair will follow from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the University Center's Wiegand Gym.

The CPDC is offering space to employers participating in the BOC to conduct on-campus interviews Friday, Sept. 20.

BOC registration information for employers is available on the CPDC's website: Wesley Thorne, associate director of employer relations, is available to answer questions at or 412-268-2064.
