News Brief: RoboChair

An "Innovation Nation" video regarding PerMMA, a wheelchair with robotic arms being developed at the University of Pittsburgh for the Quality of Life Technology Center, is featured on the March 3 edition of the National Science Foundation's Science360 website.

The Personal Mobility and Manipulation Appliance will offer greater independence to individuals with mobility and upper extremity impairments by allowing them to perform tasks, in both their home and community that would otherwise require the assistance of others.

The Quality of Life Technology Center, sponsored by the NSF, is a joint project of Carnegie Mellon and Pitt.
