Carnegie Mellon University, perhaps best known for its top engineering and computer science programs, can now add another accolade to its long list as one of the country’s most hipster campuses.

College Magazine researched dozens of schools looking for effortlessly cool and edgy students who value independent thinking, counter-culture, creativity and witty banter. Relying on criteria such as location, college radio awards, fashion programs, quality of liberal arts and fine arts programs and availability of sustainable and vegan-friendly eateries, they chose the top 10 most hipster campuses.

Coming in at number nine, Carnegie Mellon was noted for making artsy hipsters feel comfortable with one of the best fine arts schools in the country. The Dietrich College (formerly known as H&SS) also received a special shout-out for being a unique college that "lets students explore different fields" and "helping students solve 'real world' problems."
